Blog Hop Day 3

Final day of the Blog Hop!! You have until Monday Nov 16th at midnight to get your projects posted at Scrapdango though. We have a wonderful new Design Team at Scrapdango, and we want to help you get to know them and to get some great challenges along the way and have a chance to win a wonderful prize of one of Scrapdango's awesome kits.

Now how this is going to work is that you need to follow the order of the blogs of each DT member given below. At each blog you will find one part of a recipe that you will need to use on a project. There will actually be 3 progressive recipe challenges. On Friday, we will be doing a DANGOS card recipe challenge, Saturday will feature a layout recipe challenge with our DT member's favorite items, and Sunday will feature an altered item recipe challenge. You will need to visit each of the DT blogs all 3 days to get the new list of items for the recipe for that day.

So for today, we have an Altered project. Each DT member has picked one item or color, and you will need to include all 6 of those items on your project (there can be additional items as well). You need to visit each DT member's blog to find out what those items are. Once you have completed the challenge, you can provide a link to your project by posting a comment here and/or posting it in the Scrapdango forum .

The Altered ITEM
When trying to decide what item to Alter I was looking for some of my flowers which I had recently moved when reorganizing my space. Well after spending at least 10 minutes going crazy because I could not remember where they were I decided what my altered project would be, a container to hold my flowers!

So for the Altered item I chose the color Blue. Here is my Before pic of my altered project. I started with an empty cotton candy container.

My original idea was to cover the whole thing with pattern paper, well with the slight cone shape and it was more than 12" around my plan QUICKLY changed. So I painted the plastic with a dark dark brown paint and then added the cardstock and pattern paper on top of the paint. That worked sooooooo much easier. Then I embellished the paper with a title and extras, I also added ribbon along the edge to give the lid a decorative finish. I then traced the lid onto the pattern paper, cut it, distressed it and attached it to the lid. Now I won't be able to lose my flowers again. I had to take several pics to see everything.

For each of the 3 challenges that you complete this weekend, you will earn 1 draw toward the prize of a Scrapdango kit. You can also earn extra draws by doing the following:

1. Posting comments on all 6 DT blogs.
2. Inviting a friend that actively participates in the hop (they should leave a comment saying who invited them)
3. Posting on the Scrapdango forum something you learned about each DT member from their blog."

Oct sketch and GDT projects and DT TOOT!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, oops!!!! Well I have so much to share now.

I made the Scrapdango DT!!! WOOHOO I'm so excited!!! I can't believe I almost missed it too because I kept putting off actually sending in my application and almost missed the deadline. I'm so happy that I actually sent it in!!! Come on over to Scrapdango and come play with us.

The Oct sketch over at My sketch World I just love how my layout turned out. It took me awhile to find something that worked but when I found the lace cardstock I knew that was the winner.

GDT at Scrapdango
I also got to be the GDT over at Scrapdango in Oct. I got to play with this fantastic BO Bunny Flutter Butter papers. I had soooooo much fun playing with this kit!!! I don't think I have ever cute up so much paper into circles and fussy cutting. I completed 3 LOs and 3 cards and I still want to play with it (and I have plenty of papers left to complete some more).

Here is my 2pager!! Bubble Makers

Mom Agrees
I had gotten this photo blown up because I loved how you could still read DS shirt.

Cute Little Ducky

Now for the cards
Time for fall card

Tree Card Scarlett from My Sketch World posted a tutorial about making this tree and it worked perfectly with these fun papers.

Hi Card This was based on one of Lucy's Oct card Sketches!!

August sketch at My Sketch World

Lucy made another fun sketch for us to play with this month over at My Sketch World. This sketch worked perfectly for these photos of my DD that I had been wanting to scrap. Love this Fab Creative Imaginations school paper. Paper strips are Sassafras and Making Memories, Letter stickers - Bo Bunny, Cardboard letter - Deja Views. Journaling box - Pink Paislee, Apple accent - The Paper Company.

Come on over to the forum and check out the month long crop we have going on in Aug.

WooHoo!!! Another 6 months

I'm staying on the DT over at My Sketch World for another 6 months!! Woohoo!! We have an awesome forum and fantastic gallery over there, come by and check us out!! I'm so excited for another 6 months. We have a summer crop starting Aug 1 - 31.

Scrapbook News & Review
I'm so excited they asked for 8 of my layouts!!!! Woohoo!!! This is my first time in SNR!!! Its for the August edition.

Kids can scrap
Tiffany - Age 10 made a layout for the kids can scrap blog. Challenge #11 Use double
So there is 2 photos and 2 pieces of chipboard, 2 star brads and 2 metal rimmed tags.

Double pagers - oh my!!

If your like me you rarely do a double page spread any more but I had to do one for the July reveal at My Sketch World and apparently it put me in the mood to do more because then I completed two more double page spreads in the same week!!!

Dyeing Eggs
This is the layout I did using the July sketch at MY Sketch World. I just love the look of concentration when they were decorating the eggs.

Outdoor Summer Decor
I did this one for the 92 days of summer contest at YMBD. You have to take a photo every day and then include all 7 photos on one layout. Talk about hard!!!

Party Time
I think double page spreads are excellent for birthday or xmas layouts since most of us take so many pics at those times so I scrapped some photos of my youngest 1st bday party. Its hard to tell in the photo but I numbered all the pics and wrote a little something about each pic in the journaling.

DT projects I completed this month

This month I had the privilege of being a Guest Designer over at Scrapperie. Thanks so much Sandi!! Sandi puts together incredible kits. I made 3 LOs and 2 cards so far and have oodles of paper and supplies to still play with in this kit. The June kit called Salon de The featured Basic Grey Marrakech and My Mind's Eye Grow & Bloom papers.

Peacock on the Loose
I decided on this page when I saw the peacock paper in the kit. I remembered these photos of the Peacocks from the zoo. To make the tail feathers I inked the chipboard first with the dark blue ink included with the kit and then inked it again with a brillance inkpad color Jade.

Hello Card
I used the cuttlebug to emboss this card added some Basic Grey and some chipboard which was an addon to the kit and a very quick card is ready to go.

Reach for the top card
I found the pattern for this kit in a past issue of Scrapbooks etc magazine. I traced out the pieces and for the tail I used the small stamp that was included in the kit. That stamp was perfect!!! Added some Making Memories alpha stickers and a cloud and its one of my fav cards.

Flower & Garden
I cut out the vine in the My Mind's Eye paper. It took FOREVER!!!! The chatterbox journaling tag was not included in the kit. These photos were from Disney World.

Hula Time
I did a lot of cut work on this LO also. Even cutting the background paper to slip the journaling spot under neath to not cover the flowers in the paper.

Finally this month's sketch over at My Sketch World

You Make me Smile
I just loved this dynamic sketch that Lucy created this month with the paper strips coming from under the photo.

I have been really bad lately

Its been a month since I have blogged!! OOPS!! I was think about doing it and have been horrible at actually doing it.

Let me start with my layout based on the May 15th sketch at My Sketch World! I choose to do a layout about Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. The icon for the park is a Lg Manmade tree that has a zillion animals carved into it.

Here is a detail shot of the chipboard tree.

The chipboard tree is from Maya Rd - which I sprayed the trunk with Brown Maya mist and then added an orangy brown paint on top of that to add some dimension to the trunk. For the leaves I inked them and then added some Green Glimmer mist. The bird is from We R Memory Keepers. The other animals are from recollections -Michael's brand. Green paper -Cosmo cricket, Brown paper -Scenic Route, Ribbon & buttons -MM, journaling tag -Heidi Grace.

June is exciting - its my month as a Guest Designer over at Scrapperie. The reveal is on the 14th so I will give you a little peek. Want to see the rest of the reveal go over to Scrapperie and check it out!!

Peek 1

Peek 2

More exciting news I had 5 layouts and 3 cards picked to be in the June issue of Ready, Set, Create. So when I got the email that the issue was out you can imagine my surprise when one of my layouts was on the COVER!!!!! Yes I was EXCITED!! You can see the cover here

Mother's Day Party for Grandma

Saturday Afternoon we went to a Mother's day party for my Grandma. We were able to take her out of the nursing home for the first time since she has been in there which was in Oct. when she had a few strokes.

She had a great time visit with friends and family. The kids had a blast playing with all their cousins. Unfortunately my batteries died half way thru Grandma opening her gifts and I didn't get any pics of the kids playing. But I got some good pics of Grandma.

This photo is Grandma and her boyfriend (the one on the left) the other guy is a friend.

This photo is cousins. The older lady on the right is my Grandma's only living relative left on her side of the family (I think she's 84 and was very spry).

This is the YUMMY!!!!!!!! very expensive cake my uncle bought. It was soooo good.

My uncle with his only grandchild so far. Cameron LOVED playing with his cousin Conner.

My cousin Nicole, Conner is her baby and her stepmom Debbie.

So get your rear over there and play along! If you are not a member already, join up, it's free. The fun starts at 7pm tonight, March 13th (although a little birdie told me that there are some pre-crop challenges floating around already)

I wont be there tonight since I am going to a GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!! but I will be there tomorrow, cropping and digging into my new stash of brand new CHA Winter products!! See you there!

Crowned Contest Week 4

This week we had to do a LO about apart of us either mom, wife, scrapper, etc. I chose wife and we had to include 5 pros and cons. My pros are on the light pink paper & the cons are on the dark pink paper. All pp & most embellies are from Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. I included some closeup shots as well.

Crowned Contest week 3 & Saturday Scraplift

Here is my take on the Satuday Scraplift over at YMBD this weekend.

Crowned Week 3

This week the challenge was to use only 2 pp, one font for title and up to 2 embellies - I chose flowers & buttons, plus as much cardstock as we wanted.
I used this great Urban Lily paper and then I embellished the flowers with buttons. On the yellow cardstock I used a corner rounder to make the scallops and then I used the Fiskars Apron Lace Punch on the blue cardstock.

Here is a detailed shot of the flowers with the buttons added.

Crowned Contest Week 2

This weeks challenge for the Crowned contest at Scrapdango was to scraplift a layout from the Scrapdango Gallery. I chose one of Kathi's LO which I turned on its side. We also had to include Makeup -ink, paint, glimmer mist, etc.

This photo was taken at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in FL. The Silverback Gorilla was walking around and then he literally stopped and posed for this photo. I absolutely LOVE this photo and am so glad that I was able to do the photo justice by creating a great layout to accompany the photo. I inked the journaling folder.

I chose the ledger paper from Teresa Collins, strips -Scenic Route
Flower -MM -Passport line
Felt stars -Maya Road
Photo Corner -Scrapworks
Thickers -AC
