TaDa Creative Studios & Cropstop Challenge

Cropstop Challenge #72
This weeks challenge at CropStop is to create a Masculine Birthday card.

Items used from the CropStop store: Spellbinders Ironwork Accents Die, Distress Pad - Pumice Stone, Chalkboard Charcoal Mist, Dew Drops Hardy Ivy, 3 in 1 Advanced Craft Glue

Other items used Paper: TaDa Creative Studios Just Chillin' Collection.

Remember you have til Wednesday at midnight to upload your creation to the CropStop blog to be entered to win a prize.

TaDa Creative Studios

For this project I wanted to make a shadowbox of random pictures of my youngest. The Just Chillin collection was the perfect choice for this project. I started by getting the shadowbox out of the closet and then started to rough up the frame to go with the grungy feel of the just chillin collection. I did use a Pagemaps sketch to create this shadowbox.

I had so much fun adding all the little bits and pieces, stringing all the flags, pictures, title block on the baker’s twine. So Stoked was the paper used for the background. I cut all the flags myself and used pinking scissors to make a couple of the flags. The tickets and title block were created from Spellbinder’s dies. The title is from the Snippets & Clippets paper, just cut to fit into the space I wanted. Using the Unlimited TXT paper I created a brad. This project was perfect for using pieces from every paper in the Just Chillin collection. I also included the smiley sticker from the Stickies sheet too.

Scrapfit Workout #68

Scrapfit #68- Missy's Mist Mainia

If you are regular at ScrapFIT you must have noticed our wonderful Weekend Warm Up Coach, Missy's love of MISTING! Missy does amazing things with mist including making it herself (watch for a tutorial on this later this month!) So this Workout is a tribute to Missy! We want to see a layout or project with a good amount of misting! Be creative, make your own misting mask, mix your mist colors - think outside the box!

I LOVE using mists so this was a great challenge. I used two different colors of green mists, yellow mist, and even a little red. I created the frame with the help of a couple Spellbinders dies.

Closeup - I used some mini letters and then stitched some baker's twine to make them stand out a little more.

Closeup - The super fun banner that I made.

Closeup- the other side of the banner.

Cropstop Challenge #71 Show us the animal in you

Did you know that the Ringling Bros. Circus opened on May 19th, 1884! Let's celebrate their anniversary by using an animal or animal print as part of your project. Make it sassy, make it cute, make it fabulous! This is such a broad subject, so we are hoping to see some amazing entries! Have fun!

I had fun with this challenge. The animal print paper is super old, but that never goes out of style so I kept it. When I thought of animal print the title just came to me and so I made a card filled with hearts and animal print. I know its not the first thing most would think about but it worked for me.

Items from the cropstop store: Ribbon Brown sheer with ruffle edge, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts, Memory Box/Poppy Stamps Bookcase Key, Angel Pink Dye Ink, Memento, Tonic Studios Paper Distresser, Spellbinders Rubber Mat

Remeber you have til Wednesday at midnight to link up your animal or animal print project to the cropstop blog to be entered for this week prize.

TaDa Creative Studios & Scrapfit Color Inspiration post

TaDa Creative Studios Nothing but blue skies

Today is my day to post on the TaDa blog. This time I chose to play with the New Poolside collection. I started with the wonderful Fringe Benefits Round n Round, I love using the fringe benefits they are so much fun to play with. Its so fun to krinkle up the edges. I ended up putting the Fringe Benefits onto the backside of the Cannonball paper.

Next I chose the Line Dry paper and cut out some of the bathing suits and towel, they add such a fun playful tone to the layout. Coming up with a title was so easy once I saw this title block on the Snippets & Clippets paper. Next I took a small piece from the SPF50 paper and used a Fiskars Border Punch, its the yellow piece on the edge of the photo. I used a couple strips from the backside of Snippets & Clippets and the backside of Line Dry. I liked the touch of orange around the photo which is the backside of the Snack Shack.

The final touches are the flip flops that I cut out and popped up with foam tape and the Beach Ball which is from the Stickies that I also used foam tape on. The journaling block I will eventually write in but just didn't finish that touch.

Supplies: TaDa Creative Studios Poolside Collection
Cardstock: Fringe Benefits Round n Round
Papers: Cannonball, Line Dry, Snack Shack, Spf50, and Snippets & Clippets
Stickers: Poolside Collection Stickies
Glitter Brads: unknown
Border Punch: Fiskars
