Crowned Contest week 3 & Saturday Scraplift

Here is my take on the Satuday Scraplift over at YMBD this weekend.

Crowned Week 3

This week the challenge was to use only 2 pp, one font for title and up to 2 embellies - I chose flowers & buttons, plus as much cardstock as we wanted.
I used this great Urban Lily paper and then I embellished the flowers with buttons. On the yellow cardstock I used a corner rounder to make the scallops and then I used the Fiskars Apron Lace Punch on the blue cardstock.

Here is a detailed shot of the flowers with the buttons added.

Crowned Contest Week 2

This weeks challenge for the Crowned contest at Scrapdango was to scraplift a layout from the Scrapdango Gallery. I chose one of Kathi's LO which I turned on its side. We also had to include Makeup -ink, paint, glimmer mist, etc.

This photo was taken at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in FL. The Silverback Gorilla was walking around and then he literally stopped and posed for this photo. I absolutely LOVE this photo and am so glad that I was able to do the photo justice by creating a great layout to accompany the photo. I inked the journaling folder.

I chose the ledger paper from Teresa Collins, strips -Scenic Route
Flower -MM -Passport line
Felt stars -Maya Road
Photo Corner -Scrapworks
Thickers -AC

Crowned Contest Week 1

Scrapdango is having a Feb Contest called Crowned. The challenge this week was to use 2 different types of bling on a layout.

I chose a photo of my DD celebrating her 9th Bday. I thought the photo would go great with some bling.

I used a sheer background paper from KI then I have bling everywhere even though its kind of hard to see in the photo. I used glittered paper (artsylicious line) on the circular paper under the photo. The title letters (Making Memories) are glittered. Bling circle around the a. The chipboard piece at the bottom, the photo corner and the flower sticker (all from Little yellow bicycle) have glitter. Metal flower (Around the Block)is shiny, LOL!!

3 VERY Exciting Announcements plus a couple layouts from the crop.

My first announcement is I was named the Queen of the Month over at YMBD!!!! Its so exciting. I got this great crown that I get to display everywhere. I got 5000 YMBD points -which converts to REAL money in the shop. Great stuff in their and you can't get it anywhere else. Plus I got a discount on any of my purchases this month. I will definitely be stocking up. Cat (the owner) said she was putting more new items in the shop today or tomorrow too.

My second announcement which is just as exciting is I was picked as a Guest Designer over at Scrapperie! I'm SOOOOOO excited!! Sandi has amazing kits she puts together!!! Don't know yet what month will be mine, but I can't wait!!!!!!! Feb is turning out to be a great month and it just started. LOL!!!

I just found out I WON the big monthly prize over at Tara's blog!!!! WOOHOO!! Its a $50 prize pack of Heidi Swapp goodies!! Fun Fun FUN!! She has great challenges all month long go check it out.

Now I got 10 items made during the crop!! Woohoo!!! Their were a couple that I really really like how they ended up turning out. The first one is title Painting. The challenge was to do the opposite of your normal style. I am not usually a distressor so I sanded, distressed, painted and inked ALL of the paper. I think it turned out really good.

The second one is 100% boy. This challenge was to use only embellishments. Obviously you need cardstock as a base and we were allowed a small amount of pp to mat the photo. I loved playing with all these embellishments and mixing and matching everything!!!
