YMBD Saturday Scraplift challenge

What a fun challenge on Saturday's over at YMBD they are starting a scraplift challenge which is due by Sunday night. There was a great layout by Marti that we were to lift. Here is my take Called "Hi Mr. Caterpillar" My DS found this great looking YELLOW (I never saw a yellow caterpillar below) caterpillar in our backyard this past summer. He was so scared to touch it at first but then had it in his hands.

The green paper is scenic route, yellow chipboard letters is chip chatter, brown letters is making memories, felt 'caterpillar' is fancy pants, journaling block is autumn leaves.

8 Favorites for 2008

I believe that I really grew as a scrapbooker this year and
here is my list for my top 8 layouts that I created in 2008.

Changes in 10 Years
This layout was for a Before & After challenge. I had a really hard time with this one and it took me several days to complete, but then when I finally got it done it became one of my favorites. The top photo was taken about 10 years earlier than the other photos.

Meeting Belle
This layout was done from a pagemaps sketch. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out with all the flowers. Its so pretty and I was so happy to finally scrap this photo. The photo was only 4 years old and it was always one of my favorites of my DD on a Disney cruise.

Water Loving Boy
These shots of my youngest playing in the pool were so fun to scrap with the bright orange and blue in the photos. I love the pink paislee frame and kept most of the elements contained within the frame.

Swing Around
I Love the simplicity of this layout. I can't believe I was able to capture such movement in the photos!! I was soooo blessed with the photos. All the colors in this layout I took from the photo. I used the green background for the grass, the black circle for the tire swing, the pink title letters are from her shirt, the blue flowers are from her jeans and the dot of white are from her shoes.

Back to School
Love the decorative edged papers they are so fun to play with, aren't they! This is only the second school layout of done, so I'm a little bit behind. I kept this one pretty simple also. I like how the elements are all bunched together in the middle, but it still feels like there is a nice bit of room. The orange arrow just jumps off the page too. So fun.

Yummy
I took the colors from my DS snow cone, which is something I like to do alot. I loved working with these bright summer colors. The We R Memory Keepers papers were so fun to use.

Cuteness
I did this layout with a kit I purchased from scrapbook heaven. It was the first kit I purchased and I challenged myself to use the items from it. The only thing I added that wasn't in the kit was the butterfly and the ribbon. I love how it turned out. It didn't hurt that my DD was super cute in the photo too.

Altered Frame
This one wasn't a layout, but it was still one of my favorites I did last year. The challenge was to alter the back of a photo frame. I was a little iffy about this challenge at first, but then I started thinking how this would make a great gift for my grandmother and got very inspired. She always loved flowers so this photo was perfect. I love all the texture with the large flower, the butterfly, and the felt ribbon.

I Completed for 2008!

Happy New Year!!!!

I can't believe how much I got accomplished in 2008. I am so proud of myself. I reached all of my scrappy goals last year.

I completed 210 layouts, 77 cards, and 8 altered projects or mini albums. WOW!!! I really am in shock. The last thing I completed for 2008 was a layout titled My Little Pumpkin.

Before 2008 I hadn't made anything but layouts so I am proud that I was able to branch out a little, but in 2009 I do hope to branch out a little more.

My scrappy goals are to continue to make a large amount of layouts but if I don't reach 200 again I won't be disappointed either. I want to make 100 cards so hopefully I can use up some of my scraps and I want to make at least one altered item or mini album a month. Plus I would like to get published more but that means I need to actually submit things and I want to get on a design team again.

What are your goals for 2009?

Wall hanging and I picked another RAK

Well I haven't been able to get a hold of the first person for the RAK so I had my kids pick another name today.

The winner is....

Gojenlaw please email me so I can send you the RAK!!

Also I finally made a chipboard wall hanging thanks to the challenge on Tara's blog. I have wanted to make one for my living room for months. Seriously months and just never got a round to actually doing it.

Its right by my front door and it was a spot that so needed a small altered piece. I hung the piece already and took the pic. Yes my wall in the living room is orange. Thanks for the challenge Tara!!

I used scenic route papers, some felt flowers, rhinestones, orange ribbon and a chipboard accent from La Di Dah (KI Memories).

I made my Revised Goal

In the beginning of the year my goal was to complete 250 layouts this year. After my DH hurt his back in Sept I knew I wasn't going to be able to meet that goal so I revised my goal to 200 layouts and I made my goal this weekend while working on some crop challenges over at scrap 4 life. I'm so excited to have made my goal. So much so that I have decided to give away a RAK. If you would like to win the RAK just comment on this post.

My goal making layout is.....

2 Christmas Cards

I finally got a couple more xmas cards done. The first one is for 2 sketches 4 you. It was based on laura's sketch #14.

The second card was also based on a sketch this one was from So Sketchy. I picked the Nov #6 sketch which was for an 8 1/2 x 11 and I used it for my xmas card.
